During the night from Dec 7th to Dec 8th, 2019, the last two transformers of the project UW Garenfeld were delivered to final destination.
The transport route ranged from Siemens Nürnberg to the Electric Power Station Amprion in Garenfeld and included the transport of 5 transformers.
The first batch from Nürnberg to Krefeld was performed by ship, afterwards the transformers were reloaded for transportation by rail till Hennen. For the last section to Garenfeld our own street equipment was used.
The highlight during the night transfer from Hennen to Garenfeld was the crossing and closing of the German High Way A4 near Ergste at 1:00 am on Dec 8th, 2019.
This procedure was necessary as the high way bridge was not capable to bear the total weight of 510 tons (loading plus cars).
