In 2017, we received some photos of transformer movements from “bygone days”; here are two for you to take a look at.
On 14.03.1987, Ingmar Weidig lay in wait for a consignment near Germersheim. The transformer came from Nuremberg, weighed 336t and its destination was Hamm (Westphalia). Apparently due to numerous weak bridges, the consignment had to take the unusual route via the Eastern Palatinate.
And this follow-up shot was taken at the approach to Landau Station.
Our thanks to photographer Ingmar Weidig for sending us these photos and allowing us to use them on our website.
